Alabaster is found in blocks of various sizes and weight and is mined at a depth of 200-300 metres.

The alabaster blocks are very different each other.
In the same quarry we can find pieces very different in veins and in colours.
For our work we normally use blocks of weigh from 50 to 200 Kg.

The extraction is carried out by bulldozers and mechanical shovels.
Then, to clean the raw blocks we use pneumatic hammers and hand tools like hacks and piolets.

Our quarry, named "Cipollone" is very rich of important and different qualities of alabaster.
